Description
Your car on the screen. Not a car like yours.
Every digital gauge you can buy shows you a picture somebody else drew. A generic coupe, a generic needle, a badge that isn’t yours. You spent three years getting the stance right and the paint exactly that colour, and the dash still shows a silhouette off a shelf.
This one shows your car. You send us photos and we build the image set from those: the wheels you picked, the colour you mixed, the chop, the stripe, the hood you had made. Turn the key and your own car comes up.
It doesn’t care what you did to it. Bagged, chopped, shaved, LS-swapped, painted a colour that doesn’t have a name. That’s the point.
It knows who you are
It says your name out loud when you get in. Not a beep, not a logo: your name, in the language you picked. Five languages fit on the card and you switch between them in the menu, same as kilometres or miles. Every voice is included in every language you choose, so you can change your mind on a Sunday afternoon.
Because your name is spoken out loud, every line is recorded for you personally. Nothing is stitched together from syllables.
Or it says exactly what you want it to say
It comes with plenty of moments already written: getting in, everything checked and ready, time to fuel up, thanks for the drive, and the ones you hope never to hear, like oil pressure dropping or running hot.
Want your own words in it? €275 and you write extra lines of your own, as many as you like, and you say when each one should play. €375 and you rewrite the standard ones too, so every word it ever says is yours.
What it actually reads
On a GM LS or a Gen V LT it reads the CANbus signals straight off the OBD socket: revs, coolant temperature, gear position, check engine, oil pressure warning. No cutting into the harness. The fuel level comes from a sender in the tank, because GM doesn’t put that one on the bus and we would rather tell you that than pretend.
No bus in the car? Then everything comes from senders and switches. Same screen, same voice, same photos of your car. A carburettor and a points distributor is the simplest starting point there is.
Something else entirely — a boat, a tractor, a kit car? It runs on anything with 12 volts. Tell us what it goes in and we’ll work out where the numbers come from.
GM powertrain with a CAN pair on pins 6 and 14 of the OBD socket? Then it works.
- The only test is whether there are pins in 6 and 14.
- Pin 2 doesn’t matter. A 2005 Corvette has pin 2 and 6/14. Pin 2 only means there is also a Class 2 bus in the car, and that is very common.
- It has to be GM. A Ford with pins 6 and 14 does have a bus, but with different message numbers.
Straight about what it is
It is 2.4 inches. It goes in a gauge hole or a pod, not across the whole dash. Kilometres or miles, °C or °F, language and voice: all of it is in the menu, so nothing is locked in on the day it ships.
